In The Next Doctor, Miss Hartigan is the cold, ruthless human ally to the Cybermen, aiding their quest to destroy Earth. As a reward for her efforts, the Cybermen have promised that she'll be heralded at the Court of the CyberKing. But what prize is she really after?

Actress Dervla Kirwan played David Tennant's mother in the BBC drama Casanova. She also appeared as seductive barmaid Assumpta Fitzgerald in the popular BBC drama series Ballykissangel, which was set in rural Ireland, and as Claire Maxwell in the police drama The Night Detective (known as 55 Degrees North in the UK).

She is married to actor Rupert Penry-Jones (MI-5). They have two children.
