Alex thinks she’s close to death and has to keep her brain alive by solving the case: an armed robbery at the post office. Gene believes the culprit is Chas Cale, a renowned criminal whom he tried to bring down in Manchester. When the team learns that Chas is an epileptic, they begin to run out of suspects and Gene is ready to give up on the case. Alex, on the other hand, has other ideas and gives Ray and Chris the chance to prove themselves as detectives by sending them undercover.
As the case moves up a gear, Alex goes to question the murder suspect, but ends up putting her own life in danger. She fears she can’t solve the case alone and is desperate not to die in 1981. It’s up to Gene to muster all the strength in his old bones to save her…
