Host

London-born Ruth Watson is an author, food critic, graphic designer, and entrepreneur. In 1983, she and her husband, David, bought a small restaurant in Suffolk, England called Hintlesham Hall. Six years later, that little eatery grew into a hotel with 33 bedrooms and an 18-hole golf course.

In 1990, she took over management of the Fox and Goose Inn in Fressingfield, one of the first gastropubs in England. She and her husband then bought the Crown and Castle, an 18-bedroom hotel in Orford, England in 1999. They transformed the establishment into a world-class hotel, and its restaurants received 2 AA rosettes and a Michelin bib gourmand.

Over the years, Ms. Watson has also been a leading food writer - a food editor at Sainsbury's The Magazine and The Daily Mail's Weekend Magazine. The Really Helpful Cookbook, her first book, was published in 2002. Four years later, she revealed the true story of her dramatic weight loss in Fat Girl Slim, which became a UK best-seller. In her third book, Something for the Weekend, she provided recipes for people cooking for big parties.
