New Trailer: Gary Oldman Returns to the Spy Game for ‘Slow Horses’ TV Series

Last year, it was announced Gary Oldman had signed on for the espionage series Slow Horses. We then saw a first look photo of Oldman in character as Jackson Lamb. Now, there’s a recently released trailer, reports Radio Times.
The series is based on Mick Herron’s 2020 spy novel by the same name. The story revolves around an unorthodox MI5 leader, portrayed by Oldman. He oversees a group of agents, who have been assembled as a form of demotion. While they may be under his guidance begrudgingly, Lamb is the man in charge, described as “brilliant” and “frequently furious.”
In the new trailer, we get to see his management style:

We’re loving his not-so-welcoming welcome speech to his new employees, with him saying, “I know it’s not easy being banished by MI5 to my department, but that’s on you. Only screw-ups get sent to Slough House, and I got to be honest, working with you has been the lowest point in a disappointing career.”
At face value that's not encouraging at all, but it could be the motivation his team needs to do better. One of the agent’s biggest complaints is suffering from boredom. But, that’s all about to change when a hostage situation is picked up on their surveillance. Rather than being alarmed, the agent, River Cartwright, excitedly proclaims, “There is something finally happening.”
It’s not just Oldman, you can also look for Kristin Scott Thomas, Jonathan Pryce, and Jack Lowden.
Slow Horses will premiere over at Apple TV+ on April 4.
This is definitely going on our watch list. What about you?
