New Trailer: Jason Bateman and Ben Mendelsohn Star in TV Adaptation of Stephen King's 'The Outsider'

The first look trailer for the 10-part limited series The Outsider is creepy. Which is expected, with the story coming from Stephen King and all.

King's novel just came out last year and is being made into a limited series by the folks over at HBO, with Jason Bateman (Ozark) and Ben Mendelsohn (Captain Marvel) taking the leads. The below clip starts off alarmingly, with Bateman's character Terry Maitland being arrested for the murder of a little boy. He seems completely dumbfounded and... innocent. His being ambushed at a little league game while coaching, makes it even more unsettling.

Mendelsohn portrays Detective Ralph Anderson, who is leading the case. Upon investigation, he finds Maitland's prints all over the crime scene. But, at the same time, there's security footage of Maitland 60 miles away at the time of the murder.

He can't be in two places at once. Or, can he, with this being a King story??

You can also look for another King character, private Detective Holly Gibney from Mr. Mercedes, played by Cynthia Erivo.

The Outsider is set to premiere on January 12, 2020.

Do you like your murder-mystery with a dash of supernatural??
