Eddie Redmayne is set to reprise his role as wizard Newt Scamander in the third installment of Fantastic Beasts, which comes out April 2022. While he creates magic on-screen, he's also a charmer off-screen, just being his endearing himself.
Here are 10 times we were wowed by him, his words and his actions:
1. He’s been a fan of magic for a while.

Redmayne swung by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he talked about having magicians at his birthday parties growing up. He humbly pointed out, the interest typically tapers off at nine or ten-years-old, but he was having magicians into his late teens.
It seems to have paid off, as he performed a magic trick for the late-night show host.
2. He can really wield a wand.

After finishing the second Fantastic Beasts movie, he took home some wands as souvenirs. During another visit to The Tonight Show, he shared with the late-night host that there was a “wand director” on-set, who provided training. Redmayne shared some of the moves he learned with Jimmy Fallon.
3. He can also wield a drill.

Talking to Jimmy Fallon during a video interview, Redmayne shared that his wife bought him a drill at the start of quarantine. With which, he built a chicken hutch to house five chickens. He was quite proud of this accomplishment, and then became slightly addicted to drilling holes wherever needed.
4. He can tell a good story.

Actually, in the above interview with Condé Nast, he tells lots of stories, covering all his travels  that his acting career has taken him on. In one story, he traveled from Adelaide, Australia to NYC, NY and then back. In an attempt, to show up recovered and able to shoot in Australia he took sleeping pills the entire way.
It didn’t quite work out as planned, with him showing up quite wired for rehearsals.
5. He can also tell an awkward story.

Redmayne has had quite a stellar career but not all his auditions have hit the mark. When sitting on Graham Norton’s red couch, he shared a story about auditioning for The Hobbit. When it was go time, he was in full Bilbo Baggins mode, voice and everything.
The casting director stopped him short with some tips, “No, no, no. Own voice. Own voice.”
6. He’s still in awe when meeting icons.

When on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel asked Redmayne if he still gets a little starstruck and the answer was an endearing hard yes. Julia Roberts presented him with an honor at the SAG Awards, and Redmayne told the chat show host, all he could think was, “I can’t wait to tell my dad.”
7. He can really deliver in a scene.

Speaking of icons, he is one himself, with fans looking up to him. It makes us think of his character in The Aeronaut, saying to Felicity Jones’ character, “You are the only person who can fly us higher than anyone has ever been.” With the story set in 1862 England, women were not necessarily respected as professionals. He’s not only a great actor, but a great role model.
8. He’s quite humble.

We’re seeing a theme in these interviews, that Redmayne plays down his successes. It may be that he’s quintessentially British or just naturally humble. He gives credit to his wife, that she reminds him that he’s an ordinary guy, saying in a 2015 interview with E! News,There was a moment yesterday where I was in rehearsal and my wife was calling me because our dishwasher broke down. So, in the process of trying to focus on my craft, I was dealing with the blocked pipes."
9. He faced his harshest critic.

In 2014, Redmayne portrayed physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. Prior to the film being released, Hawking joined Redmayne at a screening, typing out a message to him, saying, “I’ll let you know what I think, good or otherwise,” according to Variety.
Redmayne preferred not to know, if it were otherwise. But, it turned out to be the former.
10. He’s good at accepting gifts.

It can be difficult to accept a gift, especially when caught off guard. But not Redmayne. During a Q&A for The Theory of Everything, a little girl stepped up to the mic, saying, “I’d like to give you this picture,” with him responding, “Yes, please.”
He bent down on one knee to greet her, praising her work, “That is an absolutely genius picture.”
