7 Times Helen Mirren Proved There's Nothing Like a Dame

Dame Helen Mirren is always a gold star guest on The Graham Norton Show. Ahead of her appearance on this week's episode, which airs tonight (February 18) at 11pm EST on BBC America, here's a reminder of some of her most memorable moments from the show (plus a couple sneak peek previews).
1. The time she recalled saying no to a rock legend.
In this clip from the latest episode of The Graham Norton Show, Mirren admits she was "an absolute twit" to have turned down a rock 'n' roll moment with Keith Moon. Never let it be said that this Dame isn't humble.
2. The time she spoke about her Russian roots.
Did you know that Mirren's father was Russian? Or that he worked as a London "cabbie?" Seriously, we could listen to her talk about her family background all day.
3. The time she kissed Paul Rudd.
But, only because he had kissed her hero, Jack Nicholson. We love the way she thanks Rudd afterward and sweetly wipes lipstick off his face as well.
4. The time she lobbied (elegantly) for a role in the Fast & Furious franchise.
This clip kind of proves the old adage: "If you don't ask, you don't get." Around a year later, Mirren made a cameo as Queenie Shaw in 2017's The Fate of the Furious, a role she reprised in 2019's Hobbs & Shaw and 2021's F9. In that last movie, she even got to take part in a proper Fast & Furious car chase.
5. The time she delivered a special holiday message.
There's so much to enjoy here: Mirren's banter with Collateral Beauty co-star Will Smith, the crisp way she says a slightly naughty word, and her joyful mic drop at the end. What a Dame!
6. The time she reconnected with her ex, Liam Neeson.
An awkward reunion? Not at all! When Neeson pays Mirren an unexpected compliment, she handles it with tremendous grace and seems genuinely touched. Aw!
7. The time she proved that even a wild bear will listen to what she says.
This wonderful clip is from the latest episode of The Graham Norton Show, which airs tonight (February 18) at 11pm EST on BBC America. Once you've heard Dame Helen Mirren say "naughty bear," you'll never forget it!
