It's been quiet on the Adele front lately, so we were glad to see the star enjoying herself when she posted a photo on Instagram yesterday (January 30).

The "Hello" singer has been out of the public eye since last summer, when damage to her vocal cords forced her to cancel the final two shows of her world tour in London.

It certainly looks like she's on the mend now though. The photo shows Adele dressed as her "hero," the country star Dolly Parton, complete with a big curly blond wig, a vintage pink rhinestone pantsuit and plenty of bright blue eyeshadow.

Yeah, we'd pay to hear her rendition of "Jolene," no question.

Adele has long been a fan of Dolly's, who she called the "effortless queen of song" in the photo's caption. And it turns out the 9 to 5 star loves Adele just as much.

"Everyone loves Adele," she told the BBC in 2016. "With all my little nieces, it's all 'Adele this' and 'Adele that!’ And I love how she does her makeup, and so I'm always saying to my little nieces, 'Can you fix my eyes like Adele?'"

Dolly even wrote a song about Adele on her last album Pure & Simple. "When I started that ["Head Over High Heels"] song, I had not planned to write that line. I was just thinking, 'This needs to be about a girl dressing up sexy, so she's got to have some makeup, and she's got to paint her eyes.' And all of a sudden it's like, 'And my eyes like Adele!'"

This isn't the first time Adele has dressed up as one of her heroes, either. In 2015 she dressed as Faith-era George Michael for her 27th birthday, and earlier this month she posted a photo of herself wearing a vintage Celine Dion tour shirt after catching a concert in Las Vegas by "Queen Celine."

It didn't take long for Dolly to respond. "And I will always love you!" she commented on the pop singer's post, along with three hearts — a reference to Dolly's best-known song, which was covered in 1992 by the late, great Whitney Houston.

Can you imagine these two dueting? We'd pay — even more — to see that!
