There’s been some movement on the next installment of the Paddington movies.
We can look for the return of Ben Whishaw to lend his voice to the beloved bear.
In a recent interview with BBC News, Whishaw confirmed he’s set to return for Paddington 3, and that filming is predicted to start by the end of the year.
If you aren’t familiar with the story of Paddington, he is originally from Peru and finds himself stranded in London. A family comes across him, inviting him into their home.
Here’s a peek at the trailer for the first movie:
We can also look for the return of Hugh Bonneville as Mr. Brown. It hasn’t been announced if Sally Hawkins is set to reprise her role as Mrs. Brown. But, she is such an advocate of Paddington, it’d be a shame for his story to progress without her.
In the above interview, Whishaw also included a polite tip for parents — that it’s not a good idea to introduce him to their children as Paddington.
He explains what he means by that, saying, "It's very disappointing. Occasionally a parent will point out me to a child and I can see the bafflement on their faces, because how can I possibly be Paddington?”
"It doesn't make any sense to them. And to try to explain that I'm the voice of Paddington is even more confusing for their minds. Bless them."
We can understand how that could burst one’s bubble, with a little one thinking, “But, Paddington is a bear, not a man.”
And, it’s so kind of Whishaw to be mindful of this. Speaking of which, Whishaw is doing the rounds to talk about his new role, which leans toward kindliness. He portrays an overworked NHS doctor in the new series This Is Going to Hurt.
