Benedict Cumberbatch Returns as Troubled Superhero in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Trailer

Benedict Cumberbatch joined the Marvel Universe in 2016, taking on the title role in Doctor Strange. He reprised the role in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, where the surgeon-turned-superhero causes some serious problems.

The sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is set to premiere on May 6, 2022.
A first look trailer for the follow-up film recently released, and Strange now has to face the ramifications of what he’s done.
The trailer kicks off with Strange saying, “Every night, I dream the same dream.”
Let’s just say, it is not a good dream. And, when he wakes, things aren’t much better:

It appears he’s haunted by the past, saying, “I did what I had to do,” referring to casting a spell that opened the multiverse.
He turns to Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) for consult, with her saying, it’s believed to be “dangerous.”
Based on the above footage, that's an understatement. And, we're not the only ones who think that...

Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) says to Strange, “I’m sorry, Stephen. Your desegregation of reality will not go unpunished.”
It seems like everyone is PISSED at Strange in the next installment. He has caused a lot of damage and hurt feelings.
We are completely on board in finding out what the resolution is… if there is one.
On a lighter note, remember that time when Cumberbatch walked into a comic book store as Doctor Strange?

Strange might be considered a troublemaker, but not "our" Benedict.
We know what we’ll be doing on May 6.
Is this going on your watch list?
