Shonda Rhimes' Bridgerton kicked off in 2020 and is heading into its fourth season this year. The historical drama is set in the Regency era, revolving around a wealthy family living in England, aka the Bridgertons. There's a new spinoff in the works, where we’ll find out more about Queen Charlotte.
India Amarteifio is set to portray the young Queen and we can also look for Connie Jenkins-Greig as Violet Ledger, who will later become Viscountess Violet Bridgerton. Violet is described as “kind and inquisitive teenager.”
If you’d like to know more about the upcoming series and how it relates to the current, the logline helps fill in the blanks: “Centered on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.”
Here's a peek at the trailer for Bridgerton season one:

If you now have Rhimes on the mind, we highly suggest Inventing Anna. In true Rhimes fashion, there are a lot of twist and turns in this drama, which is based on true events:
The forthcoming spinoff is all Rhimes, with her being the creator, writer, and showrunner. There’s no start date as of yet, but the project is getting some movement.
