Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan are to star in She Said, a movie about the New York Times reporters who helped to bring down Harvey Weinstein.
Mulligan will play Megan Twohey and Kazan will portray Jodi Kantor, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Along with Ronan Farrow, Twohey and Kantor won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for their work on the landmark exposé that sparked a global conversation about abuse and sexual harassment.
Maria Schrader (Unorthodox) is set to direct the film, which is due to start shooting this summer. It's being adapted from Twohey and Kantor's bestselling book on the exposé, which is also called She Said.
Though She Said will mark the first time that Mulligan and Kazan have appeared on screen together, the two actresses have collaborated before. Mulligan won acclaim for her performance in the 2018 indie film Wildlife, which Kazan co-wrote and produced, and they appeared together in a 2008 Broadway production of The Seagull.
Mulligan is coming off Oscar, Golden Globe, and SAG Award nominations for her performance in Emerald Fennell's pitch-black comedy-drama movie Promising Young Woman. We recently rounded up some of her most memorable roles, from An Education to Wildlife.
