This is not a drill: Christina Ricci has joined Wednesday, the upcoming Addams Family series from Tim Burton.
Deadline reports that Ricci is not playing an older version of Wednesday Addams, the character she portrayed in the 1991 movie The Addams Family and its 1993 sequel Addams Family Values. Instead, she is playing a new character whose identity is being kept under wraps. We do know, however, that it's going to be a series regular role.
Jane the Virgin's Jenni Ortega has already been cast as the title character in Wednesday, which is being described as a "coming-of-age comedy" as well as a "supernaturally infused mystery." It's in the works at Netflix with Burton executive producing. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán are playing her parents, Morticia and Gomez Addams.
Ricci has definitely been keeping busy recently. She has a lead role inYellowjackets, Showtime's hit series about a group of women who survived a plane crash as teenagers, and also appeared in last year's The Matrix: Resurrections. You can relive some of her classic Wednesday Adams moments below.
