Casting News: Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci Star as Romantic Couple in 'Supernova'

Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci have just finished filming on the drama Supernova, reports Variety.

The two play a long-term couple, Sam and Tusker, respectively, who set out on a road trip. Tusker has been diagnosed with early onset-dementia and their time together is fleeting. They hop in an RV to travel across England, visiting with family and friends.

According to the film synopsis, things become tense during the trip, with each having a different idea on how the future will play out.

Writer-director Harry Macqueen, describes the project as "a deeply romantic, modern love story." He elaborates on the unavoidable, saying, "It follows two people who are bound together by their love for each other but being pushed apart by the situation they find themselves in. It is an intimate, naked portrayal of a relationship facing a fissure that threatens to cut it to its very core.”

This is Macqueen's second feature film, with 2013's Hinterland being his first:
