Casting News: Daisy Ridley to Star in Indie Film ‘Sometimes I Think About Dying’
Daisy Ridley is continuing to expand her post-Star Wars résumé with the quirky-sounding indie movie Sometimes I Think About Dying.
According to Deadline, Ridley is starring in and producing the film based on Kevin Armento's play Killers. Rachel Lambert (I Can Feel You Walking) is directing from a screenplay co-written by Armento.
Ridley's character definitely sounds different from her heroic role as Rey in the recent Star Wars trilogy, which wrapped in 2019. She is playing Fran, a woman who enjoys thinking about dying. When she shares a laugh with the new guy at work, it leads to a date and the potential for romance, provided Fran can get out of her head.
The movie is already in the can, having wrapped production recently in Oregon, so hopefully we won't have to wait long to see it. Ridley's fellow cast members include rising star comedians Meg Stalter and Dave Merheje, The White Lotus actress Brittany O’Grady, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend alum Parvesh Cheena.
In the meantime, we can expect to see Ridley soon in The Marsh King's Daughter, an upcoming psychological thriller movie about a woman grappling with the repercussions of being abducted at a young age.
