Emilia Clarke recently made headlines when there was a Game of Thrones continuity snafu. She turned to Instagram just today to set the record straight. Whew, glad that's sorted.

Now, Clarke is making new-news for her latest role, set to star in the based-on-truth drama Let Me Count the Ways as poet Elizabeth Barrett (probably better known as Elizabeth Barrett Browning), reports Empire Online.

The story revolves around Barrett, a 19th century writer who found fame and an international following early in life. She self-published her first book at 14-years-old with the help of her father, followed by An Essay on Mind and Other Poems at 20, with the latter being anonymous. While her literary career continued on to flourish, her health failed.

Let Me Count the Ways is set in the Barrett home where she lives with her siblings and father in London. She basically lives as a recluse, relying on the drug laudanum to help manage an undisclosed chronic condition.

Things change for Barrett when she meets fellow writer Robert Browning, sparking a newfound energy in her.

Spoiler Alert (not really): As we've mentioned, her full-name becomes Elizabeth Barrett Browning... so, the two do marry, with the film telling their love story and how this came about.

The Wife's Björn Runge has signed on to direct, with Paula Milne (The Politician's Husband) writing the script.

We can also look for Clarke in Paul Feig's 2020 romantic-comedy Last Christmas, starring opposite Helen Mirren and Henry Golding.
