Brett Gelman may not be a household name in the U.S. At least, not yet, but you may recognize him from Fleabag and Stranger Things.
This time around, he’s taking the lead, and will be front and center. You can look for him in the forthcoming family drama series Entitled, reports Deadline.
The name of the series is quite loaded and could have more than one meaning. Gelman is set to portray a recently widowed man who inherits a fortune. Possibly “entitled” is referring to land entitlement or it’s being used in the traditional sense of the word, i.e. deserving of.
Either way, we’re about to find out with filming set to begin in Manchester, England soon.
The story revolves around Gelman’s character who goes to visit his wife’s family in the countryside. The description says they live in a “crumbling mansion” and the family members compete for his attention.
The eight-part series is set to premiere on Channel 4 in the U.K. and Showtime in the U.S.
While the description is brief, Showtime’s Amy Israel, Executive Vice President, Global Programming, provides more on what to expect, saying, the show is “led by an undeniable creative team at the center of a funny, suspenseful and surprisingly emotional comedy.”
Hmm, suspenseful got our attention.
