Casting News: 'Friends' Star Lisa Kudrow is Teaming Up with Greg Kinnear for TV Comedy 'Good People'
Friends star Lisa Kudrow headlined her own TV show in 2014, starring in The Comeback (which first aired in 2005). She's making her return to comedy, teaming up with Greg Kinnear for a 30-minute pilot Good People, heading to Amazon, reports Deadline.
The story is set in a college complaint office, revolving around three generations of women making up the employees. Kinnear will play a professor, described as "charismatic and charming." While congenial, his teaching methods are deemed unorthodox and he doesn't feel it necessary to practice political correctness.
Kudrow will play a woman by the name of Lynn Steele. It's not clear what her role is at the university, but she and Kinnear's character do butt heads.
The pilot is co-written by Lee Daniels (Empire) and Whitney Cummings (2 Broke Girls), with Cummings also starring.
Kinnear is known for comedies like 2006's Little Miss Sunshine and 2008's Baby Mama, opposite Tina Fey. In 2018, he starred in the political TV series House of Cards. You may have spotted him in Jordan Peele's The Twilight Zone reboot, starring in the episode "The Traveler."
