Casting News: 'Game of Thrones' Star Emilia Clarke Set to Star in Thriller 'Above Suspicion'
Game of Thrones came to an end in 2019, but the actors are still carrying on with new projects. Emilia Clarke, who played the infamous Daenerys Targaryen, aka Mother of Dragons, has since been seen in movies like 2019's Last Christmas.
You can also find her in this year's Above Suspicion, based on Joe Sharkey's non-fiction book Above Suspicion: An Undercover FBI Agent, an Illicit Affair, and a Murder of Passion.
That's a lot for a title, and... a lot to go through.
Clarke is set to take on the role of a real person, Susan Smith, an impoverished woman, who is living in an Appalachian mountain town in Kentucky. She agrees to be a police informant to make some extra cash, providing information on a local bank robber. When she is matched-up with FBI agent Mark Putnam (Boardwalk Empire's Jack Huston), the two become romantically involved, which... gets dicey.
In the recently released trailer, you can see what we mean by that:

In addition to Putnam being married with a new baby, he is considered the "Poster Boy" for the FBI. He has a lot to lose. As does Smith, but in a different way. As you can see in the above trailer, things go from bad to terrible.
You can also look for Sophie Lowe as Putnam's wife, Kathy. And John Knoxville as a man named Cash, who we see rough Smith up in the trailer.
There's no premiere date as of yet, but there are plans to release Above Suspicion via VOD.
