Gangs of London actor Sope Dirisu is joining Gary Oldman in season three of Slow Horses.
Variety reports that Dirisu has been cast as Sean Donovan, a character who was once the head of security at the British embassy in Istanbul. There's no word yet on whether his character will be a friend or foe to Oldman's exiled spy Jackson Lamb.
Dirisu joins a stellar cast that also includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jonathan Pryce, Jack Lowden, Freddie Fox, Saskia Reeves, and Christopher Chung.
Slow Horses, which debuted on Apple TV+ last year, centers on a group of tarnished and/or compromised MI5 agents who have been banished to a peripheral government building called Slough House. The series based on Mick Herron's novels has already been renewed for a third and fourth season.
Dirisu stars in Gangs of London as Elliot Carter, an undercover cop sent to infiltrate a criminal empire run by the formidable Wallace family. You can watch the first two seasons on AMC+ and a third is in the works. He is also known for his BAFTA-nominated role in the British horror film His House, in which he co-starred opposite Wunmi Mosaku and Matt Smith.
