Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal! The new Home Alone movie is moving forward with the casting of its first three stars.

Catastrophe's Rob Delaney, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's Ellie Kemper, and Jojo Rabbit's 10-year-old breakout star Archie Yates have all joined the reboot, Variety reports.

Sources close to the reboot have apparently revealed that Yates won't be playing Kevin McCallister, the iconic character made famous by Macaulay Culkin in the original 1990 Home Alone movie and its 1992 sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Instead, he'll be playing a new character who, like McCallister, ends up defending his family home from burglars when his parents go away for the holidays.

It's also being reported that Delaney and Kemper won't be playing the parents, but "possibly" another couple who aren't related to Yates's character. Are you feeling intrigued yet?

British writer-director Dan Mazer (Borat, Dirty Grandpa) is directing the reboot, which is being produced for the new Disney+ streaming service. When the reboot was announced in August, Culkin playfully riffed on a somewhat lukewarm response from fans of the much-loved original movies.

Though the original Home Alone movie written and produced by the late John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus is now acknowledged as an all-time holiday classic, it was actually made on a pretty cautious $18 million budget. It went on to become an unexpected blockbuster hit, raking in more than $476 million worldwide, which made it the highest-grossing live-action comedy of all-time until The Hangover came along in 2009. So, the reboot definitely has some big shoes to fill.
