Luke Evans and Billy Porter are teaming up for Our Son, a movie centered on a custody battle.
Deadline reports that the two actors will play a divorcing couple fighting for custody of their eight-year-old son. Given that Our Son revolves around a same-sex married couple going through a divorce, the casting news seems well timed: after all, we're just a few days into Pride Month.
The movie is being directed by Bill Oliver, whose previous credits include the Ansel Elgort-led sci-fi film Duplicate.
In the meantime, we can look out for Evans in Disney's live-action adaptation of Pinocchio, which debuts on Disney+ in September. The Welsh actor plays The Coachman opposite Tom Hanks as Gepetto and Cynthia Erivo as The Blue Fairy.
Porter, who won an Emmy for his performance in the LGBTQ-themed drama series Pose and a Tony for Broadway's Kinky Boots, is soon to make his directorial debut with the high school movie Anything’s Possible.
