Michelle Dockery is probably best known for her role in Downton Abbey as Lady Mary. She has now signed on for a much different project, already filming the forthcoming Boy Kills Word, reports Deadline.
The story revolves around a man who goes by Boy. When his family is murdered, he seeks refuge in the woods. There, he is trained by a shaman to become a “killing machine,” according to the description.
You can look for Bill Skarsgård (Castle Rock) in the title role. Dockery steps in as a woman named Melanie and is part of the Van der Koy family. She is described as a sociopath who works desperately to protect her family secrets. It’s not clear how the two characters are related.
Producer Wayne Fitzjohn shared his excitement about the casting, saying in a statement, “We welcome Michelle to the ‘Van der Koy’ clan and the film. It is a perfect role for Michelle.”
He also confirmed the start of production: “It’s an exciting time for the production with filming having begun just two weeks ago. We cannot wait to show the world the result.”
This will mark Moritz Mohr’s feature directorial debut, working off of a screenplay co-written by Arend Remmers and Tyler Burton Smith.
Dockery has completed filming on Downton Abbey: The New Era movie, which premieres on May 20.
