Peter Capaldi and former Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat are teaming up again – for a very intriguing new thriller series called The Devil's Hour.
Jessica Raine (Call the Midwife, Line of Duty) will star as Lucy Chambers, a woman who wakes up every night in the middle of the so-called "devil's hour" between 3am and 4am, Deadline reports.
She soon discovers that her name is linked to a grim series of murders for which a local recluse, played by Capaldi, becomes the prime suspect. Tom Moran (The Feed, Wild Bill) has written the six-part series in the works at Amazon with Moffat serving as an executive producer.
Nikesh Patel (Indian Summers, Doctor Who) will co-star as the detective investigating the case, while the cast also includes Meera Syal (The Split, Doctor Who), Alex Ferns (Chernobyl), and Phil Dunster (Humans, Ted Lasso). Shooting is underway now in London.
In the meantime, we can catch Capaldi in The Suicide Squad, which is due to premiere on HBO Max and in theaters simultaneously on August 6. He's playing The Thinker, a highly intelligent supervillain who'll cause trouble for fellow supervillains played by Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, and John Cena.
Meanwhile, Moffat is also working on The Inside Man, an upcoming BBC/Netflix limited series starring David Tennant, Stanley Tucci, Lydia West, and Dolly Wells.
