Casting News: 'Poldark' Actor Jack Farthing to Play Prince Charles Opposite Kristen Stewart's Diana

Spencer, the upcoming biopic of Princess Diana starring Kristen Stewart, has found its Prince Charles.

British actor Jack Farthing (Poldark, The ABC Murders) will play the heir to the British throne in the movie directed by Pablo Larraín, who previously made the Natalie Portman-led Jackie Kennedy biopic Jackie.

According to Deadline, the movie has also added Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water), Timothy Spall (Harry Potter), and Sean Harris (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation) to its cast as it moves to the U.K. for its final stretch of filming. The previous block took place in Germany.

Scripted by Peaky Blinders' Steven Knight, the movie centers on a Christmas weekend at Sandringham, the British Royal Family's country retreat in Norfolk, in which Diana realizes her marriage to Charles is finally over.

Meanwhile, production company Neon has shared a new image of Stewart as the late Princess of Wales, which you can check out here.

Spencer is due for release later this year. The Crown's Emma Corrin and Josh O'Connor have recently won Golden Globe and Critics' Choice Awards for their performances as Princess Diana and Prince Charles in the latest season of the Netflix period drama series.
