Casting News: Rob Delaney, Indira Varma, and Mark Gatiss Join 'Mission: Impossible 7'
Rob Delaney, Indira Varma, and Mark Gatiss have joined the already stacked cast of Mission: Impossible 7, which is understood to be close to completion at Longcross Film Studios near London.
Charles Parnell (The Last Ship) and Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride) have also been added to the movie's cast, joining Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Angela Bassett, Ving Rhames, Esai Morales, Rebecca Ferguson, and Hayley Atwell.
Director Christopher McQuarrie shared photos of the five new cast members on Instagram with the hashtag #MI7MI8, suggesting they're due to appear in the franchise's next installment, too. However, he gave away precisely nothing about the characters they're playing.
Mission: Impossible 7 is scheduled to be released on November 19, 2021, followed by Mission: Impossible 8, a direct sequel, on November 4, 2022. Morales is playing the main villain in both movies.
March is shaping up to be a bumper month for Torchwood, Luther, and For Life actress Varma, who has also signed up for the upcoming Star Wars spin-off series centered on Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Meanwhile, it was announced in February that Sherlock co-creator and Doctor Who alum Mark Gatiss is adapting M.R. James' The Mezzotint as a Christmas ghost story for the BBC. He's definitely booked and busy, too.
