Sir Ben Kingsley is reprising his MCU role as Trevor Slattery in the upcoming Wonder Man series.
Variety reports that the Oscar-winning actor will have a "major role" in the Disney+ series, though it's not known how many episodes he will appear in. Kingsley's most recent TV performance came in the 2019 EPIX thriller series Perpetual Grace, LTD.
Trevor Slattery is definitely a fun part for the Gandhi and Schindler's List actor to return to. He first played him in 2013's Iron Man 3, where viewers initially think Kingsley is playing a terrorist leader called the Mandarin. It's revealed later in the movie that Kingsley's character is actually Slattery, a somewhat bumbling and down-on-his-luck British actor who has been hired to pose as the Mandarin.
He then played him again in last year's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, in which Slattery was once again rather down-on-his-luck. The Wonder Man series is being executive produced by Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. It will tell the story of Simon Williams, the son of a rich businessman who morphs into a superhero called Wonder Man after attaining powers including incredible strength and resilience.
In the meantime, we can look out for Kingsley in the movie Dalíland, in which he plays influential Spanish artist Salvador Dalí. It's set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
