Catherine Tate Hilariously Pranks 'Doctor Who' Co-Star David Tennant at GalaxyCon

Doctor Who favorite Catherine Tate is known for her wicked sense of humor, and she showed off her playful side by pranking former co-star David Tennant at a panel event over the weekend.

Tennant, who played the Tenth Doctor between 2005 and 2010, was conducting a Q&A session via livestream at GalaxyCon in Minneapolis, when Tate – who played one of his companions, Donna Noble – made a surprise guest appearance.

“Who’s your favorite companion?” she asked rather cheekily, which according to RadioTimes.com drew plenty of cheers from the crowd.

Tennant then answered with equal cheekiness, “definitely Rose,” referring to another of his Doctor's companions, Billie Piper's Rose Tyler.

Not missing a beat, Tate fired back with another joke. “That’s good because my favorite Doctor is Chris Eccleston!”

Of course, it's safe to presume that Tate and Tennant's banter is entirely friendly. The two actors are reuniting on an upcoming U.K. sitcom called Americons, due in 2020, in which they play'll a British couple who move to America.

This isn't the first time the pair have worked together since wrapping their final Doctor Who episode, “The End of Time,” in 2009. In 2011, they played bickering lovers Benedick and Beatrice on stage in a London production of Much Ado About Nothing, while the recent reboot of Disney animated series DuckTales sees Tennant voice Scrooge McDuck, and Tate the villainous sorceress Magica De Spell.

And earlier this year, they teamed up for an episode of Tennant's podcast.
