Daniel Radcliffe is making his return to the stage, predicted for later this year. He’s signed on for the Off-Broadway revival of composer Steven Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, reports Deadline.
Sondheim’s version was first performed in 1981, with him writing the music and lyrics. The story was written by George Furth, based on George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s 1934 play.
The play revolves around three friends — Frank, Charley, and Mary — who have grown apart. The story is told in reverse order, starting with the breakdown of their friendship, backtracking to happier days.
You can look for Radcliffe as Charley. It's yet to be announced, as to who will round out the trio.
This isn’t Radcliffe’s first time performing in front of a live audience, making his Broadway debut in 2008, starring in Equus. He continued his Broadway run, starring in 2011’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. He also popped up in London’s West End, starring in 2013’s The Cripple of Inishmaan. And, most recently, he starred in the 2014 Off-Broadway production of Privacy.

In the meantime, Radcliffe is currently filming the Weird Al Yankovic biopic, entitled WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story.
