David Tennant and Emily Watson to Star in Psychological Thriller 'Quicksand'
David Tennant and Emily Watson are teaming up again, five years after starring together in The Politician's Husband.
Deadline reports they're playing a couple once again, this time on the Greek island of Crete, in Quicksand, a film described as a "taut psycho-thriller." Here's what we know:
Quicksand follows British couple Dan (Tennant) and Sarah (Watson) living out their dream in the Mediterranean. But their paradise is shattered when their visiting son is murdered by a local youth. Dan is offered a chance at revenge by a dangerous stranger who won't take no for an answer, and it emerges that the price of revenge is... another murder.
It has a slight The Twilight Zone vibe if you ask us, or Black Mirror for a more contemporary reference. It also sounds more in line with the horror-thriller Bad Samaritan David starred in this year than his more light-hearted recent work.
Quicksand is due to start filming in April, with director Mark Brozel (Humans, Troy: Fall of a City) at the helm. Expect it to hit theaters later in 2019.
