The audiobook adaptation of Neil Gaiman's The Sandman has added a triple whammy of star power in the form of Doctor Who's David Tennant, The Crown's Emma Corrin, and Bridgerton's Regé-Jean Page.

According to Radio Times, they'll lend their voices to The Sandman: Act II, Audible's adaptation of Volumes Four and Five of Gaiman's graphic novel series.

They join returning cast members from original adaptation The Sandman, which launched on Audible last year, including James McAvoy, Michael Sheen, Kat Dennings, and Andy Serkis. Gaiman himself serves as the narrator. The Sandman: Act II is due to premiere September 22.

Interestingly, a separate live-action adaptation of The Sandman is currently in the works at Netflix. This version has also attracted a starry cast led by Tom Sturridge as Morpheus, the king of stories, who seeks to restore order to his kingdom following a long period of captivity. Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, and Charles Dance are among his co-stars.

Discussing some of the differences between the Audible and Netflix adaptations, Gaiman told Digital Spy last year: "The Netflix version is going to begin in 2021, so Morpheus will have been kept prisoner in the Netflix version for 105 years rather than 70 years…

"We'll take that one, see what that does," he added. "It's already in the scripts, it does interesting things because… if we were creating this character now, what gender would the character be? If we were creating the character now, who would they be? What would they be doing? And going on from there."
