Last Night in Soho, the upcoming movie from Baby Driver and Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright, has been pushed back due to Covid-19.
The psychological thriller starring Matt Smith and The Queen's Gambit actress Anya Taylor-Joy had been due to open globally on April 23. However, Variety reports that it will now arrive in theaters on October 22.
Last Night in Soho features a posthumous appearance from the late Dame Diana Rigg, who passed away in September, around a month after Wright finished shooting. The cast also includes Terence Stamp (Smallville), Thomasin Harcourt-McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit), Michael Ajao (Attack the Block), Synnøve Karlsen (Clique), and BAFTA winner Rita Tushingham (Doctor Zhivago).
Wright hasn't shared any detail about the movie's plot, but he has revealed that it's influenced by the classic films Don't Look Now and Repulsion: "I realized I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years," he told Empire in 2019. "This movie is about the London I’ve existed in."
Last Night in Soho's delayed released date follows yet another push-back for new Bond movie No Time to Die, which will now arrive nearly two years later than originally planned.
