Silent Witness premiered in 1996 and it is still going strong. The series is now heading into season 25, which you can look for over at BritBox, premiering today.
The latest season is led by Emilia Fox, who stars as forensic pathologist Dr. Nikki Alexander. Fox joined the series in 2004 as a series regular and has starred in 172 episodes to date.
If you need some catching up, here’s the synopsis for season 24:
“Still reeling from the sudden death of Dr Thomas Chamberlain (Richard Lintern) and the shock departure of colleague Clarissa Mullery (Liz Carr), Nikki (Emilia Fox) and colleague Jack Hodgson (David Caves) return to the Lyell Centre. A case at a high security prison stirs disturbing memories for Nikki. New recruit Adam causes friction with his impetuous desire to impress. Forensic ecologist Simone’s unique knowledge helps solve the murder of a promising young boxer. And Nikki suspects a body donated to medical science may not have died from natural causes after all.”

When the credibility of DNA – the bedrock of forensic science – is challenged, everything the Lyell holds dear comes under threat. Uncertain of who to trust, the team’s investigation draws them into perilous confrontations as they fight to uncover the truth and protect everything they love.”
