Ewan McGregor Stars in New Trailer for Biopic Series 'Halston'

You may know Ewan McGregor from his early days as Renton in 1996's Train Spotting or as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy (1999-2005). He's now stepping into the fashion world, at least on-screen.

McGregor is set to take on the role of famed designer Roy Halston Frowick in the forthcoming series, simply called Halston, reports CominSoon.net.

The five-part series, heading over to Netflix, revolves around how the designer turned his name and work into a worldwide fashion empire. All until... there was a hostile takeover, and he had to battle for the rights to use the name Halston.

In the new trailer, we see McGregor as Halston, saying, "I've been an outsider my whole life, 'til one day I stopped giving a flying f**k."

Since the clip is slightly NSFW, you can take a peek over at YouTube.

In the newly released footage, we see the genesis of his designs; how he made himself and his work standout from the rest.

We hear a voice off-screen say to Halston, "My wife, she thinks you're a genius. I think that's a dangerous word. I think once you call yourself a genius, you stop growing."

Well, in his defense, the man's wife said "genius," not Halston himself.

But, as the clip goes on, it does seem the success may go to Halston's head, with him exclaiming, "I have two things you'll never have. My talent. And my name."

It seems like it's a matter of whether or not he can keep his head on straight to fight for his name.

He passed away in 1990, but his legacy still carries on, which can be seen over at the official Halston Instagram.

Based on Steven Gaines' 1991 novel Simply Halston, the Netflix series is written by Sharr White (The Affair), with Daniel Minahan (American Crime Story) set to direct.

You can look for Halston to premiere on May 14.
