Downton Abbey was always going to raise the stakes with its big-screen spin-off, and what better way than with a royal visit?

The first trailer for the eagerly-anticipated movie debuted at CinemaCon in Las Vegas yesterday (April 3), and it shows the Grantham family preparing for the arrival of King George V and Queen Mary.

Sadly, the trailer hasn't been shared online yet, but reports from the Las Vegas event suggest it has pretty much everything that longtime Downton fans would expect.

According to sources including The Hollywood Reporter, Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) is so keen for the royal visit to run smoothly that she asks Carson (Jim Carter), the family's beloved former butler, to come out of retirement to help out.

Meanwhile, Lord Grantham (Hugh Bonneville) notes that daughter Lady Edith (Laura Carmichael) is very modern – for 1927, when the movie is set – because she has "no maid, no nanny and no valet even!"

Oh, and Dame Maggie Smith's Dowager Countess delivers one of her trademark zingers, asking Dame Penelope Wilton's Isobel Grey (formerly Crawley): "Do you have enough clichés to get you through the visit?"

Isobel apparently fires back with: "If not, I'll come to you!" It sounds like a pretty riceless exchange from the pair of bickering friends.

The movie's cast also includes returning favorites Joanne Froggatt, Lesley Nicol, Allen Leech, and Elizabeth McGovern, plus Imelda Staunton, who is playing a new character called Lady Bagshaw, and Geraldine James.

Froggatt, who plays Lady Mary's maid and confidante Anna Bates, recently described the film as an "elevated" version of the TV series, which makes total sense now we know about the royal storyline.

Thankfully, we don't have too long to wait: Downton Abbey opens in the U.K. on September 13 and in U.S. theaters on September 20.
