Today brings great news for Death in Paradise fans: production has begun on the show's Christmas special and upcoming 12th season.
A first-look image shows Don Warrington (who plays Commissioner Selwyn Patterson) holding a clapperboard as he stands alongside castmate Ralf Little (DI Neville Parker). As ever, filming is taking place on location in the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe.
Production company Red Planet Pictures confirms they will be joined in the feature-length festive episode by regular castmates Élizabeth Bourgine (Catherine Bordey), Tahj Miles (Marlon Price), Shantol Jackson (Naomi Thomas), and Ginny Holder (Darlene Curtis).
And once shooting concludes on the Christmas episode, cast and crew will plow right ahead with filming the 12th season.
Executive Producer Tim Key said: "We had been wanting to do a Death in Paradise Christmas special for years and so to be starting production on our second one this year is brilliant. We’ve got a fantastic story which comes loaded with all the mystery, intrigue, and surprise that our fans love to see."
In the meantime, you can catch the eleventh season of Death in Paradise over on BritBox.
