Gary Oldman is heading back to the screen, set to star in the Apple TV+ series Slow Horses.
It’s not just Oldman, you can also look for Kristin Scott Thomas, Jonathan Pryce and Jack Lowden, reports Empire.
The series is based on Mick Herron’s 2020 spy novel by the same name.
The story revolves around an unorthodox MI5 leader by the name of Jackson Lamb (Oldman). He oversees a group of agents who are just as edgy as he is.
Lamb is described as “a brilliant, scruffy and frequently furious leader of a group of MI5 misfits.” We interpret “scruffy” as rundown.
But, if he’s running the show, he must still has some pep in his step, even if he’s a little disheveled.
The first look photos help provide an idea of what to look for from this ragtag team:

We say ragtag, because each agent has been demoted and placed with Lamb as a penalty.
Lowden portrays River Cartwright, who overhears a kidnapping plan when transcribing phone calls.
From there, he thinks he may have found a way to redeem himself and get himself back to where he was.
Thomas also plays an agent, who has been downgraded, with Pryce taking on the role of a retired agent.
Slow Horses is the first installment of Herron’s Slough House series, which is made up of eight books total.
It’s not to say all the books will be adapted for TV, but that would be something to look forward to.
The series is being written by Will Smith, who also worked on Avenue 5.
You can look for Slow Horses to premiere on April 1 over at Apple TV+.
