We know and love Karen Gillan as Doctor Who's Amy Pond. She's now stepping into a new role... that of a female assassin.

You can look for Gillan in the forthcoming action-thriller Gunpowder Milkshake, which we first announced back in 2019. At that time, the details were a bit sparse, but now the description has been fleshed out, with the story revolving around a mother-daughter assassin team, according to Collider.

Gillan and Game of Thrones' Lena Headey will star as estranged mother and daughter, who reunite to overthrow a crime syndicate they used to work for.

Gillan has turned to Twitter to share some first look photos, where we see her in character, branding a pistol and a "Don't mess with me" scowl across her face.

In a second photo, Headey sits at a diner, with an old-fashioned milkshake in front of her.

The third photo provides a glimpse of a secret sisterhood, who step in to help the mother/daughter duo in their efforts.

In addition to Gillan and Headey, you can also look for Angela Bassett (Avengers: Endgame), Carla Gugino (Manhunt) and Michelle Yeoh (Star Trek: Discovery). The cast is rounded out with Paul Giamatti (Billions).

The script is written by Ehud Lavski (Hush) and Navot Papushado (Big Bad Wolves), with Papushado also directing.

Gunpowder Milkshake is predicted to have a 2021 release.
