We recently heard Taron Egerton in the animated musical movie Sing 2, but his next screen role in Black Bird is a definite change of pace.
First look images from the prison-set miniseries show Egerton in character as James Keene, a convicted felon who is offered a treacherous way of reducing his jail sentence. The bargain, which he accepts, involves being transferred to a maximum-security facility so he can get close to a psychopathic serial killer. The plan is for him to get the killer to admit to his crimes.

Black Bird is based on Keene's memoir In With The Devil: A Fallen Hero, A Serial Killer, and A Dangerous Bargain for Redemption. Egerton, who is also an executive producer on the series, stars opposite Paul Walter Hauser, Ray Liotta, and Greg Kinnear in the miniseries from writer Dennis Lehane.
