One of the things we admire about Hugh Grant is his honesty, and he's definitely keeping it real in an upcoming Love Actually reunion special.
According to People, Grant reveals in ABC News' The Laughter & Secrets of Love Actually: 20 Years Later that he was dead set against the movie's hilarious dance scene. As you may recall, it shows his (fictional) Prime Minister throwing some shapes to The Pointer Sisters' pop classic "Jump (for My Love)."
"I saw it in the script and I thought, 'Well, I'll hate doing that,' " Grant recalls in the special ."I didn't fancy doing the dance at all, let alone rehearsing it." The movie's writer-director Richard Curtis then confirms that Grant "kept saying no" to the scene, adding: "I think he was hoping I'd get ill or something and we'd say, 'Oh, well, what a shame, we'll have to lose that dancing sequence.'"
When the special's host Diane Sawyer asks whether the scene was a "contractual obligation" for Grant, he replies drolly: "A contractual guillotine, yes. And I'm out of rhythm, by the way, especially at the beginning when I wiggle my ass."
The Laughter & Secrets of Love Actually: 20 Years Later airs this Tuesday (November 29) on ABC. In the meantime, you can check out our recent feature on the roles that have revitalized Hugh Grant's career.
