7 Times Hugh Jackman Totally Charmed Us

It's always a pleasure when Hugh Jackman swings by The Graham Norton Show, so we're delighted to flag up that he's a guest on the episode premiering this Sunday (February 26). It's a truly stellar lineup, with Dame Judi Dench, Michael B. Jordan, Michael Douglas, Paul Rudd, Eugene Levy, and Pink all popping in, too. To whet your appetite, here's a reminder of some of the times that Jackman has been charm personified.

1. The time he recalled his worst-ever gig

Earlier in his career, before he became a Hollywood star, Jackman was booked to host the annual New Year's Eve festivities in Sydney, Australia. It would have been a straightforward gig, if it weren't for the fact that Jackman had to provide 45 minutes of commentary on the epic fireworks display... without notes. He shared the whole hilarious story during a previous appearance on The Graham Norton Show.

2. The time he and Taron Egerton recreated Dirty Dancing's iconic lift scene

Jackman and Egerton starred together in 2015's Eddie the Eagle, a biopic of one of Britain's best-loved sporting figures. Their joint interviews during the promo tour were just as much fun as you'd expect, partly because neither actor can resist an opportunity to break into song. We especially like their impromptu Dirty Dancing homage right at the end of this clip.

3. The time he ran into a former student on the red carpet

If any clip proves that Jackman has stayed humble, it's this one. During an interview at the Zurich Film Festival, Jackman realizes that the journalist he's speaking is actually a former student – back in the day, Jackman taught him P.E. at Uppingham School in London. Jackman proceeds to tease him in the most playful and hilarious way, whatta guy!

4. The time he was fed chocolates by an interviewer

British TV presenter Alison Hammond is known for bringing out the fun side of everyone she meets - she even made Harrison Ford laugh. When she spoke to Jackman on U.K. daytime show This Morning, she went all-in with a charm offensive, even feeding Jackman chocolates and champagne. Naturally, he appeared to love every single minute.

5. The time he had a sing-off with Luke Evans

Both Jackman and Evans have played arrogant Gaston in Beauty and the Beast – Jackman on stage, and Evans in the recent live-action movie. So, when they found themselves on the same chatshow couch, it was inevitable that they would have a little "Gaston-off." Who do you think comes out on top?

6. The time he was shocked by Sir Patrick Stewart

Jackman and Stewart go way back – come on, they're Wolverine and Professor X. But during a previous appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Jackman really wasn't prepared for his co-star's anecdote about finding out that he isn't actually circumcised after all. The story is a bit of a classic, and Jackman's reactions are absolutely priceless.

7. The time he flirted with Dame Judi Dench

Well, it might be slightly more accurate to say that Dame Judi Dench flirted with him, but either way, they're both having fun here. In this clip from this week's episode of The Graham Norton Show, airing Sunday (February 26) at 11pm EST on BBC America, Jackman also talks about the time he was approached to play Bond. He's definitely debonair enough for the role, right?
