Hugh Jackman is not just an actor, but also a singer and dancer. While he’s starred across a number of genres, he’s probably best known for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men franchise.
If you haven’t seen Deadpool 2 just yet, please look away if you’d like to avoid any spoilers. If you have seen it, you’re most likely aware, he showed up as Wolverine post-credits.
It was a hint that we may be seeing more of Jackman as Wolverine, and here we are now, where we’ve gone from speculation to it actually happening.
Jackman is set to bring the titular role back for Deadpool 3. And, he’s more than happy about it. In an interview with AP Entertainment, Jackman says, “I can tell you, I’m going to have the time of my life.”
He goes on to discuss what it’s been like preparing for the role: “I’ve started back at the gym and I’m eating a lot and I feel bad for the cast of Music Men, the amount of protein shakes I’m having.”
If this is a surprise to you, you’re not alone, as it seems that it’s a bit of a surprise to Jackman too, with him saying, “It’s been five years, and I really never thought I’d come back, and I’m really, really excited about it. Actually, I do know a bit about the script, but I’m not going to tell you.”
While Wolverine has aged, it doesn’t sound like he’s changed all that much, with Jackman sharing some bits and pieces on the character: “There’s no choice. He’s definitely the angry and acerbic, grumpy … and he’s gonna take a lot of free shots at Ryan Reynolds, let me tell you. Physically, that is.”
Reynolds stars in the title role of Deadpool, as a reluctant superhero. If the Deadpool franchise is new to you, let’s take a step back and revisit the trailer for the original movie, which premiered in 2016:
