Idris Elba has a new role in the works, having signed up for the feature film Bang!, which is based on the 2020 comic book series. The movie is heading to Netflix, once completed, reports The Hollywood Reporter. 
We’re not mind readers, but we know what you’re thinking, “Idris Elba in a spy movie? This is a good test-run for Bond.” There has been talk of Elba starring in the next Bond film, but he’s shot that down.
With that said, let’s focus on the project at hand. The comic book series is made up of five issues, which all published in 2020. The story revolves around a terrorist cult who attempts to brainwash followers through novels. Their plan is to bring upon an apocalypse.
But, per usual, plans can change, as there’s a spy who's in the know and he's set on stopping the author.
There’s no word on who Elba is set to play, but our vote is for a good guy this time around. We would like to see him as the spy, but that is wishful thinking.
It’s not just Elba who's on board, David Leitch (Bullet Train) is confirmed to be directing.
