James Nesbitt currently stars in the Channel 4 crime drama Suspect. You can look for the U.S. premiere over at BritBox on September 27.
The eight-part series stars Nesbitt as veteran detective Danny Naylor. He’s called to the morgue for a routine ID check. Shockingly, when arriving, he learns the corpse is his daughter. He’s told that it is a suspected suicide, but he refuses to believe it. Instead, he sets out on his own investigation. Danny and his daughter were estranged prior to her death, even so, he gives her more credit, that she wouldn’t end her own life.
Each episode sees Danny conduct a cross-examination with a suspect or witness. As the investigation progresses, Danny questions himself as a father and what his role was in his daughter’s downfall.
According to the description, he’s coming across conflicting testimonies and evidence, which makes the case even more perplexing.
