Karen Gillan Has Completed Filming on 'The Bubble' and Is Pretty Excited
Karen Gillan has joined the ensemble cast for Judd Apatow's forthcoming The Bubble. Filming began in February of this year and is now complete, reports CinemaBlend.com.
We enjoyed Gillan as fan favorite Amy Pond in Doctor Who, and also saw her go the supervillain route in Guardians of the Galaxy as Nebula. And, now we can look for her as... funny.
The Bubble is a comedy that revolves around a group of actors who are stuck in a hotel during a pandemic. And, while that may not sound all that fun, Gillan and crew had some fun in her trailer when filming wrapped.
You can take a look at the gaggle of pals dancing and singing to the Spice Girls' "Stop" over at her Instagram.
In addition to sharing the fun moment, Gillan shared her gratitude, writing, "THAT’S A WRAP!!!!!!!!!!! On The Bubble!!!!! This film has been a total dream to make. We all feel incredibly lucky to have gotten to make a film right now. Thanks to @juddapatow for making us all so much funnier than we are. I can’t wait for you to see this on @netflix in the not so distant future...ooo. This is on our make up truck which saw more dancing than it did make up. @irisapatow @aj.tv @sara_osborn1"
Her excitement is infectious and makes us even more excited to see the finished project.
As she mentions in the above, the made-for-streaming movie will land over at Netflix, and also stars Pedro Pascal, Leslie Mann, Iris Apatow, Rob Delaney, Keegan-Michael Key, Fred Armisen, Maria Bakalova, David Duchovny and Peter Serafinowicz.
Gillan and Pascal (The Mandalorian) are set to portray actors of a well-known franchise, with Mann and Duchovny being a divorced married couple forced to quarantine together.
Apatow wrote the screenplay with Pam Brady (Lady Dynamite), with a release date still to come.
