Liam Neeson has cornered the market on starring in action movies, and now he's stepping into the role of executive producer.

Neeson starred in the 2011 mystery-thriller Unknown, which is getting a follow-up over at TNT, reports Deadline.

In the original movie, Neeson plays a man named Dr. Martin Harris. When Harris' car goes over a bridge, landing in a river, he wakes up in the hospital with partial amnesia. When he goes to find his wife, she claims she's never seen him before.

If you've already seen the movie, then you know how the story unravels from there:

The new project, a made-for-TV movie, will pick up where the original story left off, but with a new character and a new storyline.

According to Deadline, we can expect the lead character to be "thrust into a mind-bending adventure full of twists and turns."

It doesn't sound like Neeson is set to appear in the sequel but will be involved as an executive producer.

The new project is being referred to as a one-hour drama, with Sean Finegan (Free Fall) writing the pilot. But, with the term "pilot" being thrown out there, which is kind of a standalone episode test run, we may be looking forward to a series.

It seems to be up in the air at this point.

While the folks over at TNT sort out their plans, let's take a look at this roundup of 10 Liam Neeson Roles We Can't Get Enough Of.
