Linda Hamilton is Back as Sarah Connor in New 'Terminator: Dark Fate' Trailer

Linda Hamilton returns to reprise her role as the iconic Sarah Connor for the next installment of the Terminator franchise. And, it's not just Hamilton, we can look for Arnold Schwarzenegger as a cyborg. He's not as bad as he was in the original 1984 film, though.

This time around there's a new cyborg (Mackenzie Davis), but she says she's "human, only enhanced." It's hard to keep track of who's aligned with who. Connor is suspicious of the female cyborg and is okay with working with Schwarzenegger's cyborg but declares she's going to kill him when it's all over.

Well, that sounds promising. The first look trailer helps fill in the blanks:

As heard in the above clip, August 29, 1997, was supposed to be Judgment Day. But Connor changed the future. (Oh, look at that, the trailer was released on August 29, 2019.) Connor may have changed the future, but it looks pretty grim.

The new film will pick up right after 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day. So, for all intents and purposes, we can ignore the sequels that followed. There's no sign of John Connor in the trailer, but he is mentioned in the credits (Edward Furlong). Possibly we may see him at some point. He was the focus point in T2, with the fate of the world hinged on his survival.

Instead, in Dark Fate a young woman (Natalia Reyes) is the one to be watched over. Connor and the two cyborgs act as her protectors. It's not clear why she is so important, but apparently if she doesn't make it, everyone dies.

You can look for Terminator: Dark Fate in theaters on November 1.
