Line of Duty has revealed that its core team of anti-police corruption investigators will be joined by a new recruit in the upcoming season.
Shalom Brune-Franklin (Our Girl, The State) will play DC Chloe Bishop, a new member of the AC-12 anti-corruption unit led by Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) and staffed by DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) and DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston).
The BBC Press Office shared the announcement in a mock-memorandum to AC-12 staff members which was posted on Twitter. The memorandum teases that DC Bishop will assist the AC-12 gang on a "tricky new case."
Line of Duty finished shooting its sixth season in October after being halted for five months due to coronavirus. Boardwalk Empire's Kelly Macdonald has also joined the cast as DCI Joanne Davidson, the senior investigating officer in an unsolved murder case.
The BBC Press Office revealed earlier this week that season six of Line of Duty will be slightly longer than expected - seven episodes instead of six – and will be premiering on BBC One "soon." Watch a teaser for the new season here.
Seasons one to three of Line of Duty are available to watch on AMC, while season four featuring a BAFTA-nominated performance from Thandie Newton is available on AMC Premiere. We recently rounded up 10 reasons why it deserves to become your new favorite crime series.
