Listen: Steve Coogan Hosts a New Podcast as Alan Partridge

We just mentioned David Tennant having a second run with his podcast David Tennant Does a Podcast With... And now another Anglo regular, Steve Coogan, is stepping into podcast territory.

Coogan doesn't host the podcast as himself, though. He takes on the role of fictional DJ Alan Partridge in From The Oasthouse: The Alan Partridge Podcast, premiering via Audible on September 3.

At first, Partridge was a little hesitant to take on this venture, saying in a statement, "Like most people, I assumed those who hosted podcasts were pale, tech-obsessed social lepers who live with their mums and couldn’t get a platform on any meaningful broadcaster so started spouting their bloated opinions into their USB microphones to flatter their groaning sense of self-importance."

Hmm, not sure if "most people" think that. But moving on... It appears he's switched gears, as he has just released a tidbit of his forthcoming podcast:

The above starts out mid-sentence, so it might take a minute to catch-up as to what he's doing. If it's not quite clear, Partridge is going over a milk advert he did a voice-over for, once upon a time. And we should point out, his rendition is quite maniacal.

Circling back to how this came about, in the above-mentioned statement, Partridge talked about the Audible people reaching out to him, saying, "But then I spoke to a man I’d never heard of before from Audible. HE called ME and made me an offer. I countered. He came back. I countered again. In short, we hammered out the details (to my satisfaction) and the result is a series of podcasts. They’ve been described as very good/sensational."

We'd like to say the above is false bravado. But, it seems all bravado.

If you had to choose between David Tennant or Alan Partridge's podcast, which one would you vote for?
