Louisa Harland, Adrian Lester, Joely Richardson and Nick Mohammed have all signed on for The Ballad of Renegade Nell, an intriguing new fantasy series from Happy Valley creator Sally Wainwright.
Variety reports that Harland, best known for her role in hit British sitcom Derry Girls, will star as the title character, a young woman who goes on an "extraordinary adventure" after being framed for murder. The story will be set in the 18th century and follow Nell as she inadvertently becomes a notorious highwaywoman.
Richardson will co-star as a character called Lady Eularia Moggerhanger, who is described as an "eccentric newspaper magnate." We recently took a look back at some of Richardson's most memorable roles, and it sounds like Lady Eularia could be a terrific addition to her résumé.
Lester will play Lady Eularia's main rival, the Earl of Poynton, while Ted Lasso favorite Mohammed will portray a "plucky" character called Billy Blind.
The Ballad of Renegade Nell is in the works at Disney+ and counts among its directors Amanda Brotchie, who previously worked on another Wainwright-created series, Gentleman Jack.
We can also look out for another season of Wainwright's Happy Valley, which is a co-production between AMC Networks and the BBC. Last month Wainwright gave an update on the new season, which will once again star Sarah Lancashire and James Norton.
